About the role
English National Ballet is seeking an Assistant Stage Manager to join the Technical team. This role will assist the Stage Management Team in all aspects of production. You will ensure, in collaboration with the Stage Manager, the safe and efficient running of performances and rehearsals. As an Assistant Stage Manager, you will be employed under the Equity House Agreement in terms of pay, holiday and paid overtime if required.
This role will run from August 2025 to January 2026 in line with ENB's Autumn Tour.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Stage Manager with the running maintenance of props and other production requirements whilst on tour.
- Assist in the smooth and efficient running of rehearsals including marking out studios, operating sound, and video equipment, and looking after set and props.
- Assist the Stage Manager in the general discipline, supervision, and well-being of the Company.
- Become familiar with the requirements of the venue and the production in a short space of time.
- Keep accurate and up to date records of all relevant performance and prop paperwork.
- Build positive working relationships with all team members, internal and external contacts/technical teams and stakeholders.
Key Selection Criteria
- Experience of being an Assistant Stage Manager for large-scale productions.
- Ability to understand and work to the varied requirements of large-scale ballet production
- Ability to score read to a high standard.
- Good prop making and maintenance skills
